Hi, I’m Jack Ayrey.
This isn’t just a business—it’s a reflection of what we believe in. We’re here to create work that matters, led by a shared commitment to quality and care.
We are devout to nature and the environment and we want to share nature’s beauty but only through safe means to preserve what we still have.
My Approach
Ethics and values
We are very devoted to adhering to our strict ethical and moral code. When wild camping, there is a primary rule that all campers must adhere to ‘leave no trace’, this means to preserve the land by ensuring the site looks exactly as it did upon arrival - we also adhere to this rule. Not only do we ensure our works has no consequence on the land but we apply the same methodology to the wildlife, no feeding the animals or touching them or disturbing their lifestyle etc..
What began as a passion project has evolved into something more.
I have been around cameras since I was cognisant, my uncle was, and still is, a professional photographer and photo editor ,having shot for big name brands like Burberry. My uncle had me playing with a new hatchback’s worth of glass and plastic from such a young age, since then I’ve had a fascination for photography that persisted until I began reading. Soon my passion and time was divided evenly between looking at all kinds of photography and reading all kinds of literature.
With a love for photography and a love for literature, journalism seemed natural. Natural, another obsession I developed was all things from the natural world, having grown up in the drab greyness of Wigan, moving to Devon when I was 10 was a truly eye opening experience. Spending my secondary school years living on the Jurassic Coast and in driving distance of multiple areas of natural beauty, I spent my time enjoying the beauty of the valleys, hills, and the ever-present swelling of the sea.
In 2024, I developed an interest in journalists like Hunter S. Thompson and read lots of his work among other similar writers like Anthony Bourdain and critics of world issues like Noam Chomsky. Upon starting a journalism course in my second year of college at Exeter, it only seemed natural to combine my obsessions and interests together, jackayreyphotography is this combination - it is not a mechanism to advertise my work, its a means to showcase my passion.
